Hi, my name is Marta and I am a student of I.E.S Cartima. I am 15 years old and I love english.
Today, I am going to go through all the projects we have done this term and then, I am going to give you a general conclusion.
PROJECTS:
Firstly, I am going to introduce all the projects and I am going to explain what we did.
Women in World War I
This project was very interesting and we did it because it was women’s day. We investigate in real webs about the roles of the women during world war I. We search a lot of information and we realised about the evolution they had in this period of time.
For doing this project, we knew women roles through propaganda. Each group had a propaganda picture of WW1 and a picture of women working in “men works”. We describe it and then we did an audio guide.
The objectives were:
- Explain some general aspects about what caused the First World War.
- Contrast information searched in British and Spanish websites
- Talk and write about the importance of the role of women during the First World War.
- Describe the consequences that have led to the status/role of women and their rights in the present day.
- Express why propaganda was important to raise women's power during WWI
- Use vocabulary related to feminism, armed conflicts, peace, countries and nationalities.
- Describe a picture or photograph.
- Express reasons and consequences in English

The final product was an exhibition about women in WWI with propaganda an images at work. We worked a lot to do the best exhibition and it was very difficult because we had a lot of things to do and a lot of things to prepare. Nevertheless, the final product was amazing and I am very proud of the work we did.

Job hunting
This project was my favourite one. I am going to explain it deeper and with more details. All the tasks were individually but we contrasted it with our group to learn more.
In this project we had to investigate about what we want to become in the future.
The objectives were:
- Write a curriculum in english
- Talk about strengths and skills
- Answer questions orally about ourself
- Speak about future plans
The first task was do an individually infographic about what we want to be in the future with the skills we will need.

In another task, we had to find a company related to our profession to see what type of characteristics they need and how they pay you.
The teacher give us some links and some questions to answer.
Then, we had to do our own curriculum and it was my favourite task. We did an official CV with our experiences working and our skills and it was very interesting.
The final product was create a personal video curriculum talking about our basic personal information, our experiences working, our grades, our education and skills, our interesting hobbies and lastly, our future plans.
In this project, I learn a lot. I was delighted because I like to know more about what I am going to do in the future and this project helped me a lot to know more about my skills and how the companies are. The best discover was know how to do a real CV and it was very curious.
For me, the difficulties were in the vocabulary. I didn’t know enough words about this topic. Despite of that, the project wasn’t very difficult.
Finally, I am going to put here a PDF with my notes of this project about grammar and vocabulary.
I think that I spent the time very well because I was always on time in all the lessons and I tried to speak and practise english a lot with my class.
Work in groups
This term, the work in group was very different in comparison with the first term. We couldn’t choose the group so my group was bad. I was all time working and doing all the tasks and my group didn’t do anything. I was the coordinator and I think that I did the best I can with the group.
For the next term, we have to speak more in english in the group.
My opinion about the subject
I know that for the teacher is better to choose the groups but personally I work much better when I can choose my group like last term because all the tasks are better and the final products are amazing.
I think that choosing the group is a very important thing in the subject of english because we have to practise and speak all time in english and if I work with people that I don’t want to work with, I think that I am not going to try to speak english.
On the other hand, there was a lot of good things.
The best one is that we work with real sources and with real links so, it is one of the best ways to learn.
This term, I learn a lot about my future and about real companies and jobs.
But the best thing is that I really learn with the project about women in world war I and about propaganda because I worked a lot in this project and I investigate a lot.
In my opinion, I tried to use a lot english in the class but sometimes I forget it and I start to speak in spanish.
In the next term, I have to speak more english in class because I think that practising is the best way to learn.
My future objectives are:
- Speak more english in class
- Try to study all days
- Study more vocabulary
- I have to try hard because I can
To conclude, this term was very exciting and personally, english projects were my favourites of all subjects. I learn a lot about history and about how I want my future.
