La tecnología contra el coronavirus.

Hoy vengo a dar una pequeña opinión sobre un video que he visto que os dejo aquí enlazado.

En el video habla de cómo la población china está usando la tecnología para parar la epidemia que está sufriendo actualmente todo el mundo, el llamado coronavirus.

Una de las aplicaciones que le están dando a la tecnología, es que desde hace unas semanas, para acceder a oficinas de trabajo, todos los empleados deben mostrar desde su dispositivo móvil un código QR. ¿Y qué muestra este código? Con esta aplicación creada por Alibaba, se analizan los datos del dispositivo y determina si esa persona ha estado en zonas de riesgo o a viajado cerca de otras personas infectadas por el covid-19. Cuando tienen estos datos, se genera un código QR que al escanearlo antes de entrar al lugar de trabajo, al metro o a cualquier otro sitio, se pone verde, amarillo o rojo. 

Solo si el código es verde pueden pasar y esto significa que no es una persona de riesgo.

Este método es genial y está ayudando a reducir los casos de contagio. Aquí demuestran el gran desarrollo de la tecnología que tenemos actualmente en el mundo.

Esto, hace unos años era totalmente imposible y nadie lo imaginaba así. La tecnología ayuda de muchas formas y este ejemplo es uno de los mejores.

Otro de los avances que se están usando, es un casco con un filtro que hace que te muestra la temperatura corporal de las personas que están a menos de 5 metros de distancia de ti.

Este es otro ejemplo de una gran aplicación de la tecnología ya que así, evitamos acercarnos a personas que estén con fiebre ya que este es uno de los principales síntomas del virus.

Otra de las aplicaciones muy interesante es una que te permite conocer si en un radio cercano a ti, hay alguna persona infectada con coronavirus.

Todos estos datos los almacena la policía y les ayuda a llevar una contabilización.

En España, también estamos viendo algunos ejemplos del uso de la tecnología para frenar el virus, aunque a menor escala.

En conclusión, la tecnología y su desarrollo puede ayudarnos a parar la epidemia y demostrar de lo que las máquinas y el ser humano es capaz.

PODCAST + ANÁLISIS DE “LAS MENINAS”

Hola a todos mi nombre es Marta Palma y hoy vengo a hacer un podcast con un análisis del cuadro las meninas, de Diego de Velázquez.

Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez, conocido como Diego Velázquez, fue un pintor barroco español considerado uno de los máximos exponentes de la pintura española y maestro de la pintura universal.

Nació en Sevilla en el 1599 y murió en Madrid en el 1660, con 61 años.

El cuadro Las meninas, es uno de los más famosos de Velázquez además de ser uno de los más curiosos debido a los numerosos enigmas y curiosidades que esconde.

El cuadro fue pintado en el año 1656 y retrata a la infanta Margarita, hija del rey Felipe IV en el taller de Velázquez situado en el palacio real Alcázar de Madrid.

Este cuadro es una de las obras más representativas de la pintura española. Se caracteriza por su concepto innovador, una excelente técnica, el particular uso de la perspectiva, el contraste entre la luz y la sombra, la distribución de planos y personajes y la recreación del ambiente familiar.

El cuadro mide 3.18 metros de ancho por 2.76 metros de altura y se encuentra actualmente en el Museo del Prado en Madrid, España.

Si echamos un vistazo rápido al cuadro, ¿cuántos personajes diríais que hay? ¿Diríais que hay 7,8 9 personajes? Pues bien, si te fijas detenidamente encontramos 12 personajes que son los siguientes:

En el cuadro Las meninas de Diego de Velázquez se pueden distinguir 12 personajes:

1. La infanta Margarita: como la figura principal de la obra. Se encuentra rodeada de sus damas de honor o de las meninas.
2. María Agustina Sarmiento: es una de las meninas y, por lo tanto, dama de honor de la infanta. Se encuentra al lado derecho de la infanta Margarita.
3. Doña Isabel de Velasco: se encuentra al lado izquierdo de la infanta Margarita. Su mirada se dirige hacia el público creando complejidad al análisis de la perspectiva del cuadro.
4. María Bárbola: es una enana alemana que integra el grupo de los bufones de la corte.
5. Nicolasito Pertusato: es un bufón enano de la corte italiana que imprime el aire infantil 
6. El mastín: es el perro protector de gran tamaño que rompe con la presencia únicamente humana de la escena.
7. Diego de Velázquez: el pintor se pinta a sí mismo escondido detrás de un lienzo de gran tamaño. 
8. Marcela de Ulloa: es la dama de compañía de la corte y representa la frivolidad.
9. El guardadamas: es el cargo del mayordomo moderno y es el único personaje no identificado. Intensifica la frivolidad al ser la contraparte que conversa con Marcela de Ulloa.
10. José Nieto: se cree que era primo del pintor y ejercía de posentador de la corte. 
11. Felipe IV: representado en un espejo o cuadro al lado izquierdo de la puerta en el plano del fondo. Aqui encontramos la pregunta de: ¿Es el reflejo de los reyes que se encuentran en la posición del público? o ¿es el reflejo del cuadro que Velázquez ha pinta de los reyes?
12. Mariana de Austria: es la segunda esposa del rey Felipe IV y ayuda a completar el misterio del espejo en el último plano del cuadro.

Como dije antes, esta pintura esconde muchos enigmas y ahora os diré algunas de sus mejores curiosidades:

• El cuadro no siempre se llamó “las meninas”, en 1666 la obra aparece registrada como “Retrato de la señora emperatriz con sus damas, y una enana en el inventario del Alcázar”. Además, otros la conocen como La familia, en referencia a Felipe IV.
• Los especialistas descubrieron que, si en la obra se une con una línea imaginaria el corazón de los personajes principales, se dibuja la constelación Corona Borealis (corona boreal) cuya estrella central se llama Margarita Coronae.

ENGLISH PORTFOLIO. 2ND TERM

Hi, my name is Marta and I am a student of I.E.S Cartima. I am 15 years old and I love english.

Today, I am going to go through all the projects we have done this term and then, I am going to give you a general conclusion.

PROJECTS:

Firstly, I am going to introduce all the projects and I am going to explain what we did.

Women in World War I

This project was very interesting and we did it because it was women’s day. We investigate in real webs about the roles of the women during world war I. We search a lot of information and we realised about the evolution they had in this period of time.

For doing this project, we knew women roles through propaganda. Each group had a propaganda picture of WW1 and a picture of women working in “men works”. We describe it and then we did an audio guide.

The objectives were:

• Explain ​some general aspects about what caused the First World War.
• Contrast information searched in British and Spanish websites 
• Talk and write about the importance of the role of women during the First World War.
• Describe the consequences that have led to the status/role of women and their rights in the present day.
• Express why propaganda was important to raise women's power during WWI
• Use vocabulary related to feminism, armed conflicts, peace, countries and nationalities.
• Describe a picture or photograph.
• Express reasons and consequences in English

The final product was an exhibition about women in WWI with propaganda an images at work. We worked a lot to do the best exhibition and it was very difficult because we had a lot of things to do and a lot of things to prepare. Nevertheless, the final product was amazing and I am very proud of the work we did.

Job hunting

This project was my favourite one. I am going to explain it deeper and with more details. All the tasks were individually but we contrasted it with our group to learn more.

In this project we had to investigate about what we want to become in the future.

The objectives were:

• Write a curriculum in english
• Talk about strengths and skills
• Answer questions orally about ourself
• Speak about future plans

The first task was do an individually infographic about what we want to be in the future with the skills we will need.

In another task, we had to find a company related to our profession to see what type of characteristics they need and how they pay you.

The teacher give us some links and some questions to answer. 

Here, you have my work.

Then, we had to do our own curriculum and it was my favourite task. We did an official CV with our experiences working and our skills and it was very interesting.

The final product was create a personal video curriculum talking about our basic personal information, our experiences working, our grades, our education and skills, our interesting hobbies and lastly, our future plans.

In this project, I learn a lot. I was delighted because I like to know more about what I am going to do in the future and this project helped me a lot to know more about my skills and how the companies are. The best discover was know how to do a real CV and it was very curious.

For me, the difficulties were in the vocabulary. I didn’t know enough words about this topic. Despite of that, the project wasn’t very difficult. 

Finally, I am going to put here a PDF with my notes of this project about grammar and vocabulary.

My notebook

I think that I spent the time very well because I was always on time in all the lessons and I tried to speak and practise english a lot with my class.

Work in groups

This term, the work in group was very different in comparison with the first term. We couldn’t choose the group so my group was bad. I was all time working and doing all the tasks and my group didn’t do anything. I was the coordinator and I think that I did the best I can with the group.

For the next term, we have to speak more in english in the group.

My opinion about the subject

I know that for the teacher is better to choose the groups but personally I work much better when I can choose my group like last term because all the tasks are better and the final products are amazing.

I think that choosing the group is a very important thing in the subject of english because we have to practise and speak all time in english and if I work with people that I don’t want to work with, I think that I am not going to try to speak english.

On the other hand, there was a lot of good things.

The best one is that we work with real sources and with real links so, it is one of the best ways to learn.

This term, I learn a lot about my future and about real companies and jobs.

But the best thing is that I really learn with the project about women in world war I and about propaganda because I worked a lot in this project and I investigate a lot.

In my opinion, I tried to use a lot english in the class but sometimes I forget it and I start to speak in spanish. 

In the next term, I have to speak more english in class because I think that practising is the best way to learn.

My future objectives are:

• Speak more english in class
• Try to study all days
• Study more vocabulary
• I have to try hard because I can

To conclude, this term was very exciting and personally, english projects were my favourites of all subjects. I learn a lot about history and about how I want my future.

ENGLISH PORTFOLIO. 1ST TERM 19/20

English portfolio

     

     Hi, I'm Marta Palma and I am a student of I.E.S Cartima. I am 15 years old and I love english.

I am going to introduce all the projects we have done this term.

• Climate change:

In this project we had to realise about how global warming can change our lifes. Climate change is very important now and we did this project to know more about it. The final product was filming a flipgrid about our opinion and our experience about global warming.

• Halloween:

Halloween is from United States of America and we did a project about it at the end of October and at the beginning of November. We wanted to celebrate it too and we were looking for some information and doing some tasks. The final product was carrying out a pumpkin decorating workshop with students in first and in second year.

• Fair Saturday:

This project was very important because we participated in the global movement of Fair Saturday doing documentaries about NGOs. 

My group did a documentary about “Madre Coraje”. 

In the subject of english we had to do subtitles for the video. With the subtitles, more people can watch the video.

     My favourite project this term was Climate Change. Now I am going to explain deeper all the tasks we did in the project.

The objectives were:

• To raise awareness about the importance of the environmental laws and agreements that governs have made.
• How humans must interact with their environment.
• To know about the main points of the Paris Agreement 2019.
• To learn and review vocabulary related to the environment, pollution, ecology…

     This project had this different tasks:

Writing:

We had to look for information about environmental laws of different countries owing we had to do a writing about it.

I had some difficulties with the vocabulary because I have never done something related to climate change in english so I look for the meanings in wordreference.

Speaking:

It was a little task where we recorded an audio having a conversation about environmental laws in our group.

We did it with the writing we had done before.

Memes:

Memes are very trending topic now on the Internet and we did some of them too. We created some memes about global warming. We know that a meme is something funny and global warming is something worrying but we tried to do something funny.

In this task, I learnt how to do a meme and I discover that there are some webs where you have pictures of famous memes and you only have to put text on it.

Final product:

We had to do a flipgrid (a flipgrid is a video of yourself talking about some issue) talking and answering this questions:  What do you think about Climate change? Can governments help to reduce global warming? 

We had to give our opinion and talk about our experiences in around 1:30 min. 

     The final product was individually but the memes were in group and each of us gave a lot of ideas and we work very well in the group.

    Now, I am going to show you how I make notes in my notebook about vocabulary and gramar.

I think that I spent the time very well because I was always on time in all the lessons and I tried to speak and practise english a lot with my class.

     This term I had a very good group in the subject of english so I think that we worked very well and we did all the tasks on time. 

I am usually the coordinator in all groups but this time, we could choose the group and in my group, all of us were coordinators so, this time, I was the speaker.

For the next term, we have to speak more english in the class because we forgot it and we speak spanish. 

     The best thing in the subject was that the teacher didn’t choose the group so we can do it. When we chose the group we work more and we work comfortable. I think that chose the group is a very important thing in the subject of english because we have to practise and speak all time in english and if I work with people that I don’t want to work with, I think that I am not going to try to speak english. In conclusion, I prefer to choose the groups than work with people that I don’t know.

Other good thing was that we were working with real sources and it was one of the best things to learn too.

    This term, I learnt a lot about volunteers in the UK and before we started the Fair Saturday project, I didn’t know the big importance of been volunteer and I didn’t know why people become a volunteer. Now, I am more interesting in become a volunteer than before.

     In my opinion, I tried to use a lot english in the class but sometimes I forget it and I start to speak in spanish. In the next term, I have to speak more english in class because I think that practising is the best way to learn.

     In the next term this are my objectives:

• Speak more english in the class
• Study more vocabulary
• Try to study all days
• Take notes of all the grammar we will learn

    In conclusion, we have done a lot of things this term and the most important thing is be funny speaking english. I learnt a lot about Fair Saturday and about Global Warming.
